About Us

Columbia-RiverMtHoodOne Community Health (formerly La Clínica del Cariño Family Health Care Center,  Inc.) is a non-profit, federally qualified, community and migrant health center, serving people in the Columbia Gorge area, which includes residents of Hood River and Wasco counties in Oregon, and Klickitat and Skamania counties in Washington. We currently serve approximately 10,000 active medical patients and approximately 5,000 active dental patients. About half of our patients are White/Anglo and about half are Latino.

It is One Community Health’s mission to advance health and social justice for all members of our community. Our experienced providers and staff, many who speak Spanish, have spent more than 30 years offering a complete and affordable primary care home. Adults and kids can receive a wide range of medical and dental services in Health Centers—one in Hood River, and our newest in The Dalles.

Beyond serving our community’s primary care needs, we are also committed to tackling some of the most chronic and costly medical and dental issues facing our community with our innovative health education programs. In addition, we offer behavioral health programs and services, as well as a host of health and wellness programs that support healthy lifestyles. Our bilingual and bi-cultural Certified Community Health Workers reach vulnerable and uninsured adults and children to get them the care they need. We rely on the generous support of private funders and federal grants to continue these vital programs and to extend the associated financial savings back into the regional economy.

Today, we are proud to be recognized by the Oregon Health Authority as a Tier-4 Patient Centered Primary Care Home, demonstrating our ability to meet the standards of health care set by the state. This honor testifies to our excellence in putting patients at the center of high-quality, compassionate team-based care.
