Make an appointment—Can I just walk in?

All visits with providers are by appointment only with the exception of our Hood River Valley High School Health Center, which does accept walk-ins.

For appointments at our main sites, call 541-386-6380 (Hood River) or 541-296-4610 (The Dalles).  If you need to see a provider right away, we’ll do our best to schedule you an appointment, depending on our providers’ schedules. When you arrive for your appointment we will request that you review and sign our “No Show Agreement” policy, which explains patient/provider expectations.

Learn more about paying for health care appointments?

One Community Health is a community health center, serving the medical and dental needs of our Columbia Gorge community. We bill commercial insurance plans, Oregon and Washington Medicaid, and Medicare. Please be prepared to pay your co-pay at the time of your appointment. We accept cash, checks, debit and credit cards. If you have no insurance, you may qualify for discounted services based on household income and family size: please contact us for more information. Unless you have already qualified for discounted services, we request that all uninsured patients pay $35 at their appointments, and we can then arrange payment plans to assist you in meeting financial obligations. At One Community Health, our mission is to advance health and social justice for all members of our community. In keeping with our mission, patients will not be denied services due to inability to pay; if you are unable to pay your bill in full, we will work with you to create a mutually satisfactory payment plan.

Learn more about enrolling in the Oregon Health Plan?

Our patient resource specialists can help determine if you qualify for the Oregon Health Plan, and if so, can help you apply for enrollment. Meetings with patient resource specialists are by appointment only: call 541-386-6380 (Hood River) or 541-296-4610 (The Dalles).  Note that most Oregon patients who qualify for our Sliding Fee Discount Schedule will automatically be scheduled for an appointment with a patient resource specialist to complete an Oregon Health Plan application.

Learn more about services for pregnant women?

At One Community Health, we offer expert, personalized care for expectant mothers and their babies. Patients from both Hood River and The Dalles deliver babies at Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital under the care of an experienced OCH physician. We also have a Perinatal Program, which is a support program for all women who are seeing us for their pregnancy. The certified community health workers in that program help to make sure you get the prenatal care you need. They can help you understand all the symptoms of pregnancy, and they teach our childbirth classes. They are a great support after the baby is born, and are experts at helping women with breastfeeding.  For more information, call 541-386-6380 (Hood River) or 541-296-4610 (The Dalles), or visit our Obstetrics page.

Learn more about services for children?

We see all ages from birth thru adolescence.  All of our providers see children for sick visits, well child check-ups, and vaccinations. These services are available at all three of our locations: our Hood River site, our site in The Dalles, and our Hood River Valley High School Health Center. For more information, call 541-386-6380 (Hood River) or 541-296-4610 (The Dalles) or visit our Pediatrics page. Learn more about health promotion programs?

Since 1988, One Community Health has been recognized nationally for its innovative health promotion programs. Our certified Community Health Workers (CHWs) are community leaders trained under the supervision of a nurse manager to help individual patients, families, and communities get the health education and care they need. OCH’s certified CHWs are bilingual and bi-cultural and able to bridge cultural and language gaps between contemporary medical/nursing care and the lives of low-income, often uninsured patients. For more information, visit our Health Promotion page.
