This resource from the Washington Department of Health has information on which doses you should receive and when.

As of August 31, 2022, all booster doses use the bivalent vaccine. With this new vaccine version, people no longer need to track how many booster doses they have received.

  • If you live in or are fishing in the Columbia River Gorge we are partnering with the Columbia River Inter-Tribal Fish Commission to bring vaccines to you. You can also schedule an appointment at any of our clinics.

  • You are up to date with your COVID-19 vaccines if you have completed a COVID-19 vaccine primary series and received the most recent recommended booster dose. The primary or initial series is 2-doses of Moderna, Pfizer, or Novavax, or 1 dose of J&J. As of August 31, 2022, the only approved booster dose for people 12 years and older is the new bivalent version from Moderna or Pfizer.

Previously, booster recommendations were based on the number of vaccines received. For example, adults 50 and older were supposed to have two vaccines and two boosters. This was getting confusing. What about those who got the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine? What if someone had COVID-19, then a first booster? Does that count as two boosts? It was difficult for people to know if they were current on their vaccines. With this new booster, there is no need to track or catch up with the other dose. All you need is the primary series and a bivalent booster.
